the thirtieth formica friday

It's that time again, another Formica Friday, a treasure trove of hodgepodge, random tidbits, and a bit of this and that. In particular, it is the place where I can celebrate the best posts I read this past week and want to share with you.

A quote:

"We look at the world through a theological lens--it may or may not make us unemployable."

-- the sensational Caroline Barta

Two Memes
  1. There was a girl, for a short time, and I shared with some of you that it was possibility. We have since realized, for the best, that we are best as friends. Then and now.
  2. I've taken up a little project: I'm putting together an eBook for Advent with devotional readings for each day. Look for it November 23, more details to come ...
A list, in which I describe what I am thankful for:
  • the violent breaking in of grace
  • Monday dinner
  • lazy afternoons of shared being, pained nights of the same
  • sharing stories, fiction and otherwise, outside the coffeehouse in the cold evening
  • Skype chats, exorcisms, and laughter
  • the joy of emptying yourself and the rest that follows
  • hope, for there must be good in all
Posts, websites, trinkets, and the Internet week in review revue (after the jump):

  • for loving the words, resting in rhythm, and hallowing the common, Margaret with "Et expecto"
  • for imprinting my heart with a watermark of grace and a haunting question of willingness, Mandy with "Sharing the Hallelujah"
And, as always, an old post from me:
